The Acropolis Project: Balance

Editor & Playwright

The Artistic Director commissioned me to head-write and edit The Acropolis Project, a post-apocalyptic adventure into the last days of a civilization much like ours.

With a team of two other writers, we took the mythology, conceived by the director, and created a tale that is both a poignant commentary on civilization and a Western answer to the kung-fu saga. The result was a piece devoted to creating a physical production, with a linear (non-performance-art) based plot structure and full-run combat choreography.

Play by Shawn Paonessa, Neil Gobioff & Chris Holcom

World Premiere

Aug. 2 – 18, 2002
Shimberg Playhouse, Straz Center, Tampa
Directed by Ami Sallee
